Co-relationship between Escherichia coli in broiler cellulitis and liver lesions

چکیده
Abstract Pathogenic strains of Escherichia coli may invade the subcutaneous tissue poultry and cause cellulitis, whilst pathogen also lesions in internal organs such as liver. Current paper co-relates virulence genes characteristic Avian (APEC) broilers´ cellulitis liver lesions. One hundred carcasses were retrieved from production chain an avian abattoir state Bahia, Brazil, between August 2013 January 2014, due to detection Cellulitis samples aseptically quantify E. by Petrifilm™ count fast method (3M Company) (AOAC 998.8). Since results showed relationship possible systemic infection, criterion for total discarding carcass be suggested.

Virulence factors and clonal relationships among Escherichia coli strains isolated from broiler chickens with cellulitis.
In this study, we compared Escherichia coli isolates from chickens with avian cellulitis with those from feces of healthy chickens. Cellulitis-derived strains presented phenotypic and genotypic characteristics of greater virulence than did the fecal isolates. Phylogenetic analysis by repetitive extragenic palindromic-PCR showed that, in agreement with their virulence characteristics, the cellul...
متن کاملEvaluation of the timing of the Escherichia coli co-infection on pathogenecity of H9N2 avian influenza virus in broiler chickens
Bacterial co-infections can probably influence the pathogenicity of H9N2 low pathogenic avian influenza virus (AIV). This study aimed to evaluate the effect of exposure time to Escherichia coli (O:2) on the pathogenicity of H9N2 AIV in broiler chickens. Three hundred and sixty broiler chickens were randomly allocated to six equal groups. At the age of 26 days, all chicks except groups 5 and 6 w...

15 صفحه اولRelationship between phenotypic and genotypic florfenicol resistance in Escherichia coli.
This study evaluated the relationship between florfenicol resistance and flo genotypes in 1,987 Escherichia coli isolates from cattle. The flo gene was detected in 164 isolates, all of which expressed resistance to florfenicol at MICs of >/=256 microg/ml. The florfenicol MICs for all isolates that lacked flo were </=16 microg/ml.
